At Vesat Renewables Private Limited, we draw inspiration from the transformative policies that laid the foundation for India’s green energy future. One such landmark initiative was the Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Yojana (RGAUY), launched in 2009, under the broader umbrella of India’s renewable energy mission. This program emphasized the promotion of solar energy and aimed to make clean power accessible and affordable, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
A Vision Ahead of Its Time
Launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Mission sought to:
- Promote solar power plants and decentralized solar applications
- Provide heavy government subsidies to accelerate adoption
- Create awareness and generate employment through local energy centers
- Focus on energy access for rural homes, schools, health centers, and institutions
This mission laid the groundwork for solar empowerment across India, years before solar became a mainstream solution.
Vesat Renewables: Walking the Path of a Green Legacy
Vesat Renewables proudly carries forward the vision of this mission. Since our establishment, we’ve been committed to:
- Installing MNRE-subsidized solar power systems in rural and semi-urban areas
- Supporting beneficiaries of RGAUY with maintenance, upgrades, and awareness programs
- Partnering with panchayats, schools, and NGOs to extend solar energy access
- Delivering solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) services with integrity and quality
Heavy Subsidies, High Impact
The subsidies introduced under the 2009 program drastically reduced the cost burden for end-users and encouraged early adoption. Vesat Renewables was among the early adopters and facilitators of this program, enabling:
- Solar lighting systems for remote villages
- Solar home systems with backup for households
- Training and skilling of local technicians and solar entrepreneurs
Our Pledge
As India continues to move towards a net-zero carbon future, we remain deeply committed to the mission first championed by leaders like Rajiv Gandhi—making renewable energy a right, not a privilege.
At Vesat Renewables, we believe that every solar panel we install is a step closer to an empowered, enlightened India.
